of the Wendell Phillips Academy High School Seniors. Some of colleges include
Miles College, Wiley, Northern University, Clarke Atlanta, Chicago State, Jackson
State and Iowa State University just to name a few.

Jan 2012 - An admissions counselor (Ms. Pennington) from Dillard University (New Orleans) speaks to AVID Seniors about college admissions requirements and strategies for success at the collegiate level in the post secondary lab.
On behalf of the Wendell Phillips Academy High School Counseling Department we would like to welcome everyone to another fabulous year. The Phillips Academy Professional School Counselors are here to assist with student academic achievement, personal/social development and college and career opportunities. Our mission is to ensure all students are on track at every stage of their high school career prepared to graduate ready for college and career options. It is our goal to provide a variety of resources to enhance student success. We are here to promote a safe, collaborative learning community where services are delivered to every student to maximize his/her achievement.
The Counseling Office is located in room108 and is open daily from 8:00am-3:00pm. Students are invited to visit the Counseling Office before school, during lunch, after school, and by appointment. Parents are encouraged to contact their child’s counselor to set up an appointment.

The College and Career Lab is located in room 106 and is open daily from 8:00am-3:00pm. Students are invited to visit the College and Career Lab to prepare for post secondary and career options, research potential job opportunities, create resumes, complete college and scholarship applications and offers various other resources. Students are able to visit the College and Career Lab before school, after school, during lunch, by appointment or with classes.
Parents are encouraged to reach out to Mr. Howard to set up an appointment to discuss their child’s College and Career plans.
